A break follows each focus session except the last. A long break replaces a short break after every specified number of focus sessions.

When auto-start is off, the next phase waits for you to press Start. Skipped focus sessions are not counted as completed.

Runs locally in your browser. Keep the tab open; background or locked-device alerts are not guaranteed.

Focus better with a simple Pomodoro timer

This free online Pomodoro timer divides work into manageable focus sessions followed by short or long breaks. Select a preset or enter your preferred durations, how often to take a long break and how many focus sessions to plan. The timer tracks each stage and counts focus sessions that finish normally.

Automatic or manual transitions

Choose whether breaks or new focus sessions should start automatically. If auto-start is disabled, the timer pauses at the next phase until you start it. Short audio cues announce transitions when your browser permits playback. No account or installation is required.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Pomodoro technique work?

Work on a task for a fixed period, usually 25 minutes, then take a short break. After several focus sessions, take a longer break. Adjust the times to match your workflow.

When does the long break happen?

With the Classic settings, the long break replaces the short break after the fourth focus session, provided more focus sessions remain. The plan always finishes directly after its final focus session.

Will the next session start automatically?

Only if you enable its auto-start setting. Breaks and focus sessions have separate switches and are both manual by default.

Does skipping a focus session count as completed?

No. Only focus periods that reach zero normally count as completed. Skipping still advances the planned sequence.

What happens when the browser tab is in the background?

The timer uses actual elapsed time to avoid accumulating tick delays. Browsers can pause JavaScript and audio in background tabs, especially when a phone is locked, so notifications are not guaranteed to play on time.

Does this timer save my settings or track me?

No. This timer runs locally in the active browser page. Its progress and settings are not sent to a server by this tool and do not persist after the page is closed.
