Lap times and splits
Each lap records the time since the previous lap and the total time since the stopwatch started. Recorded laps stay visible until you reset the stopwatch or leave the page. You can copy your lap results to a spreadsheet or note.

What is the difference between lap time and total time?
Lap time is the duration since the start or the previous lap. Total time is the entire elapsed duration, excluding pauses.
Does the stopwatch continue in another browser tab?
Yes, while the page remains open. The displayed time is based on elapsed timestamps rather than counting individual timer callbacks. Browsers may slow down display updates in background tabs.
How precise is the stopwatch?
The display shows hundredths of a second. The underlying timer uses the browser's high-resolution clock, but the display refresh rate and device scheduling limit real-world precision. It is not a certified timing instrument.
Can I save my lap times?
Use Copy lap times to copy recorded laps as tab-separated text, ready to paste into a note or spreadsheet. Lap times are not uploaded to a server.
Does the stopwatch work on mobile phones?
Yes. The controls and lap list adapt to smaller screens. Background and screen-lock behavior can vary by browser and operating system.
